The following Fairborn
graduates will be inducted into the Hall of Honor in April of 2005.
Ron Eubel
Ron Eubel graduated from Fairborn Baker High School in 1978. He played on both
the golf and tennis teams for all four years. In 1982 he graduated from Miami
University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a
major in Finance and Accountancy. He played golf for Miami for several years.
After graduation he joined C. H. Dean & Associates, serving as an Officer,
Investment Committee Member, Senior Institutional Portfolio Manager, and
Director of Research. Ron is a founding partner of Eubel, Brady & Suttman
Asset Management and serves as the firm's Chief Investment officer. Ron is an
avid golfer and squash player and coaches his children's soccer programs. He
resides in Centerville with his wife, Melinda, and his two children, Samantha
and Christopher.
Robert Lum
Robert graduated from Fairborn Park Hills High School in 1980. He finished in
the Top Five in the state in chess and was also active in band, choir, newspaper
and tennis. In 1984 he graduated from the University of California, Berkeley,
with a B. A. in molecular biology with honors and distinction. In 1988 Robert
graduated from medical school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland,
Ohio. After graduation, Robert served as Chief Resident at the University of
California, Irvine. Robert with his training in stereotactic radiosurgery, is an
expert in the field of prostrate Brachytherapy, and he is the first doctor in
the nation to acquire a highly advanced device called the accu-knife. He is
active socially and politically in the medical arena and enjoys golf, tennis,
biking, and hiking.
Jane Van Thiel Trame
Jane Van Thiel Trame graduated from Fairborn High School in 1958. She was a
senior class officer, junior and senior member of the National Honor Society.
Jane was active in the Future Teachers of America, Library Club and Annual
Yearbook staff. She graduated from the University of Dayton and began teaching
the fifth grade at Mary, Help of Christians School. Jane raised a family of five
children and helped as full-time secretary and bookkeeper for her husband's
business. She started her own HVAC business in south Dayton and was
owner/president for ten years. Jane is active in the Fairborn Art Association
and serves on the Fairborn Sweet Corn Festival Steering Committee. Jane
coordinated and assisted in the painting of six large sports murals on the walls
of the Press Box at Memorial Stadium. A breast cancer survivor, she enjoys
aerobics and yoga, art, music, golf, bicycling, traveling, reading, and spending
time with her family. She and her husband, Jim, have been married 44 years and
have five children and eight grandchildren.
Aaron Sampson
Aaron Sampson graduated from Fairborn High School in 1983. He served as class
officer both his junior and senior years, participated in Quill and Scroll and
played basketball for Fairborn. In 1988 Aaron graduated from The Ohio State
University with a B. A. in Political Science and Public Relations. In May of
1991, Aaron graduated from the University of Vermont with a Master's of Public
Administration degree, with an emphasis in non-profit organizations. Aaron
served as the founding Executive Director of the National Football League's
Youth Education Town of Atlanta and was employed by Emory University. Aaron has
also served as a consultant for various non-profit organizations. He is active
in various community organizations and is on the Board of Directors for Girls,
Inc. Aaron is currently the Executive Director of Atlanta Hospitality House
where he recently directed and implemented a $350,000 capital campaign. Aaron
comes from a strong military family. He has traveled throughout the United
States and the world and has interacted with individuals from a wide variety of
cultures, beliefs, and backgrounds. Aaron and his wife, Terri Rosen, live in
Atlanta with their two daughters, Nora Lee and Evelyn Erin.
Robert E. Jones
Robert Jones attended public schools in Gallia County where he was active in
football, basketball and track and was president of his senior class and
salutatorian. Robert graduated from Rio Grande College in 1965 with a B. S. in
Secondary Education. He received a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from
Louisiana State University in 1969. He began his teaching career at Five Points
Junior High as a seventh grade math teacher. Robert taught advanced math at the
new Park Hills High School in 1969 and became Chairman of the Mathematics
Department for Fairborn City Schools in 1970. He served as the Class Advisor for
the first graduating class at Park Hills High School in 1972. He organized the
intramural sports program at Park Hills and Fairborn High School and filmed the
football games from 1971-1991. He served as Athletic Director from 1991-1994. He
was a four time recipient of the Greene County Excellence in Education Award,
chosen by a valedictorian or salutatorian as their most outstanding public
school teacher. Robert is the parent of two daughters, Kathy and Pam, and a
proud Grandpa!
Katrina Kittle
Katrina Kittle graduated from Fairborn High School in 1985. She was a member of
the National Honor Society, and the President of the Drama Club. Katrina spent a
summer at the North Carolina School of the Arts and then graduated from Ohio
University in 1990 with a B.A. in English and a B.S. in Education. Katrina
taught Advanced Placement British Literature and Theatre at Centerville High
School for five years. She advised a student written literary magazine, directed
high school productions, and supervised a touring Children's Theatre Group.
Katrina has published three books about social issues. Her third novel,
currently titled "Strong at the Broken Places," is scheduled for a
January 2006 release from HarperCollins. This novel centers on the topic of
child sexual abuse. Katrina currently teaches sixth and seventh grade English at
the Miami Valley School and is at work on her fourth novel. She is the daughter
of Butch and Beverly Kittle of Fairborn. She and her husband, Scott Rogers, live
in Kettering, Ohio.
Michael Foy
Michael Foy graduated from Fairborn Baker High School in 1978. He was active in
soccer at Baker. He attended Wright State University and Sinclair Community
College. Michael started working in the family business, Foy's Variety Store,
when he was a young child. In 1978 Michael became a partner in the business with
his father. In 1987 Michael became sole proprietor of Foy's Store. In the early
70's Foy's started turning their attention to their favorite holiday, Halloween.
Michael has added the Adult Costume Store and the Children's Costume Store to
Main Street in Fairborn. He has also opened Foy's Rock and Roll Grill and Foy's
Halloween Store West. Michael is involved with Rotary, Fraternal Order of
Eagles, Knights of Columbus, and he is actively involved with the Downtown
Fairborn Business Association and the Fairborn Festival Committee. Michael and
his wife Darla (Strouth) Foy and their son Michael, Jr., live on Pleasant Avenue
in Fairborn in the old Fairborn Municipal Court building. Michael is an avid car
enthusiast and collector and he enjoys boating. He volunteers in the community
that he has lived in his entire life.
